Puntland Presidential Candidates to meet at the Statehouse to discuss election process.
Presidential candidates of Puntland State will today meet at the statehouse to discuss the forthcoming election process. The meeting which was formerly slated to take place on Saturday has been postponed to today due to unknown circumstances. However, today’s meeting is the first of its kind for presidential aspirants to come to table to discuss the process of the presidential election on 8th January 2014.
The incumbent president who is also an aspirant in the forthcoming election has welcomed a request by some aspirants to schedule a meeting of all aspirants at the statehouse to clear some issues that were lately unclear like the controversial vetting committee for the election disputes of which the president named the committee.
Yesterday some aspirants had a closed door meeting at Rayaan Park Hotel in Garowe where they met to discuss ahead of this meeting at the statehouse.
Some of the aspirants that have confirmed and are expected are Cali Xaaji Warsame, Cabdiwali Maxamed Cali Gaas iyo Shire Xaaji Faaah, all candidates are expected at today’s meeting
