The Library & Resource Center
Opened on 29 December 2007 in Garowe, the Puntland Library & Resource Center is one of Puntland’s longest‑operating civic learning institutions. The Center provides a safe and inclusive environment where youth, women, community leaders, and public institutions come together to learn, exchange ideas, and participate in civic dialogue.

Masraxa Dookh – Youth Civic Theatre
Masraxa Dookh is the first structured youth civic theatre platform in Garowe established by Somali Family Services. More than a stage, the theatre functions as a civic arena where youth use drama, storytelling, and dialogue to explore issues such as governance, peacebuilding, gender equality, and social responsibility.

Radio Sahan: A Trusted Platform for Community Voice
Established in 2013, Radio Sahan—also known as Sahan FM—is an independent communityradio station operated by Somali Family Services (SFS) from Garowe, Puntland. Broadcasting on 89.2 FM, the station provides news, civic education, public dialogue and community-centred programming in the Somali language.
The name Sahan means “pioneer” or “scout,” reflecting the station’s role in bringing important issues to public attention, connecting communities with decision-makers and creating space for voices that are often excluded from public discussions.
Radio Sahan is an integral part of the SFS Civic Hub and Media Platform. Through news reports, interviews, panel discussions, call-in programmes and public-awareness campaigns, the station supports:

Radio Sahan has expanded beyond terrestrial FM broadcasting through online streaming, enabling Somali audiences in Puntland, elsewhere in Somalia and across the diaspora to access its news and public-dialogue programmes.
Through Radio Sahan, SFS maintains a permanent, locally owned media platform that informs communities, amplifies underrepresented voices and strengthens civic participation and accountable governance.

Cisco Networking Academy
The Cisco Networking Academy within the Civic Hub equips youth with globally recognized ICT skills aligned with Somalia’s growing digital economy. The programme provides structured training in computer literacy, networking, and digital technologies.
