LUUQ, GEDO, JUBALAND — Somali Family Services (SFS) conducted a training in Luuq District focused on Domestic Revenue Collection and Financial Management.
The training was implemented under the Good Governance Project – SSF III Year 4 and brought together 60 participants, including community elders, academics, business owners, youth, and women. The diverse participation provided an opportunity for different community stakeholders to share their perspectives and contribute to discussions on improving local revenue systems.
The training focused on assessing the current state of domestic revenue collection and mobilization, identifying key challenges and opportunities, and strengthening stakeholders’ understanding of effective financial management practices.
Key stakeholders also participated in consultations aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, and sound financial management at the local government level. These discussions contributed to efforts to develop a Revenue Collection and Mobilization Action Plan that responds to the needs and priorities of Luuq District.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to strengthen local government capacity, improve public financial management, and enhance domestic revenue generation. Strengthening these areas is essential to enabling Luuq District to improve the delivery of essential public services and promote sustainable local development.
Somali Family Services (SFS) remains committed to supporting good governance, strengthening local institutions, empowering communities, and contributing to sustainable development across Somalia.
